Dishwasher/Food Prep

Part-time/Full-time

Overview

Yama’s Fish Market is looking for a dependable and hard-working individual to wash our dishes and equipment and assist with food preparation.  The ideal candidate performs well individually and also in a team setting.  Knowledge and practice of basic food safety is required.

Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively in written and oral form in English.  Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work at a brisk pace.  Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.

Shifts

Part-time:  must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Full-time:  must be able to work any scheduled morning, afternoon or weekend shift.

Duties

Dishwashing of equipment used

Emptying of trash

Cleaning of kitchen and other areas inside and outside of store

Washing and cutting of vegetables; washing rice

Loading and unloading pots for cooking

Portion control

Food Prep/Assistant Cook

Overview

Yama’s Fish Market is seeking a hard working and dependable food prep/assistant cook. Food prep experience is required. Must have knife skills.

The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast paced, high energy environment, while maintaining superior food quality and presentation. He/she must be familiar with local and Hawaiian food. Must be able to multi-task to work our busy lunch/dinner crowd. Must be organized and good with time management. Knowledge and practice of basic food safety is required.

Front Counter Help

Overview

Yama’s Fish Market is looking for efficient, enthusiastic and energetic front counter help! Must be able to multi-task and work quickly to service our busy lunch and dinner crowd! The ideal candidate communicates well, is clean cut, and familiar with local and Hawaiian food. He or she consistently follows procedures and takes pride in giving excellent customer service. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work at a brisk pace. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively in written and oral form in English. Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds.

Part-time: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Full-time: Must be able to work any scheduled morning, afternoon or weekend shift.

Duties

• Taking and completing customer food orders
• Ringing up sales accurately
• Maintaining well-stocked, clean and neat showcases
• Performing other front counter support tasks.

Yama’s Fish Market is seeking a competent, positive individual to prepare our existing specialties to recipe standards.

Must have a minimum of two year’s experience in a high volume, reputable establishment or be a quick study with a culinary degree. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced, high energy environment, while maintaining superior food quality and presentation. Must be able to multi-task to work our busy lunch/dinner crowd. Must be organized and good with time management.

Knowledge and practice of basic food safety is a given.
